McCarthy Jr. (Miami, Florida), born in Newport News, Virginia, who passed away on July 27, 2020, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James A. McCarthy and Guarina Alvarez McCarthy; and his siblings, Donald McCarthy, Patsy Franklin Eyster and Cynthia Lyons.

He is survived by: his wife Sandy; his children, Lisa Sokol (Debi) of James McCarthy, III, Thomas McCarthy (Lisa) and Suzanne Neider (Tom); his grandchildren, Derek (Kasey), Brian, Crystie, Austin Sokol, Casey McCarthy, Micah, Josiah, Julian, Silas James, Alec, Miles McCarthy, Taylor and Marisa Neider; his sister Dulce Watson; his siblings-in-law, Louise Wassenberg and Michael Lyons; and also, Mary and Tom Smith. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, cousins and dear relatives and friends.
