She was predeceased by: her parents, Allen Martin Mize and Louise Crowe Mize; and her husband Charles Ward Israel, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Laura Smith and Chuck Israel (Sarah); her grandsons, Austin, Cameron and Connor; her siblings, Ruth Eloise Higginbotham and Charles Mize; and her nieces and nephews, Lisa Holland (Clay), Forest Higginbotham (Candace), Lee Higginbotham (Dawn) and Rhonda McLelland.
In honor of Emalyl's benevolent nature, the family suggests contributions in her memory be made to the Florida United Methodist Children's Home (now known as Residing Hope) in lieu of flowers.
