He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Mattern and Anna Mattern (Paulsen); and also Barbara (Diehl). He is survived by: his wife Janet (Paviglianti); his son William Alfred "Bill" Mattern; his grandchildren, William Mattern and MacKenzie Mattern; his son Alfred William "Butch" Mattern (Shawn); his grandson Jordan (Katie); his great grandchild Finnley; his grandson Austin (Christina); his great grandchild Maya; his grandchildren, Robert Mattern, Aleyah Mattern and Moises Mattern; his daughter Theresa Perez (Emilio); his grandson Ian Deutsch; his daughter Jene' Schoeck (Rob); his grandson Noah Schoeck; his former wife Barbara Mattern (Diehl); his sister Patricia Hickey; and his parents-in-law, Jimmy and Jennie Paviglianti. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
