She was predeceased by: her husband Franklin Beard (Dean); and her parents, Patricia Harrington (Pat) and Richard Harrington (Dick). She is survived by: her stepson Christopher Beard (Molly); her granddaughters, Terralyn, Zalinya and Karley; her sisters, Janey Harrington and Courtney Rollins; her brother-in-law Mark Rollins; her nieces and nephews, David Bruce, Price Foster, Shannon Rollins, Brendan Rollins and Erin Rollins; and her aunts, Mary Harrington and Kay Fleetwood. She is also survived by neighbors and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County.

“I'm so sorry & so shocked that Susan & Dean both died (six months apart). I knew both of them for over 35+ year's, Knowing Dean at Harris Semiconductor & Susan at Harris Corp. I knew them very well when they lived in Melbourne Beach, nextdoor to my husband and I's good friends the Duff's. I would also run into Susan at Petty's meat's in Melbourne when Susan then worked at Rockwell & I still worked at Harris, at that time Dean and Susan were living in Merritt Island.
