He was predeceased by: his sisters, Norma Johnson and Brenda Hickes. He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, Joe Hicks (Sheila), Janet Hicks and Randy Hicks; and his grandchildren, Naomi McBride (Matt), Robert "Bobby" J. Hicks, Jr. (Amanda), Sarah Steele (Rob) and Becca Sturdevant (Gary). He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
