He was predeceased by: his wife Betty (DeNuccio); his parents, Raymond Marot and Edna Marot (Carr); and his brother James Marot. He is survived by: his daughters, Maureen Marot Edgerton of Auburn, ME, Sharon Marot Jagel of Glastonbury, CT and Colleen Marot Mrowka (Bill) of Cheshire, CT; his grandchildren, Amanda Leone (Christian), Kate Courto (Richard), Erika Jagel, Elizabeth Manta (Vincent), Julia Edgerton, Shelby Jagel, Cooper Mrowka and Griffin Jagel; his great grandchildren, Sloane and Scott Courto; and his pet Buddy.
With the social restrictions imposed during the Covid pandemic, he started cooking and delivering Sunday dinners to his friends, a practice that he continued until his illness slowed him down.
