She was predeceased by : her husband Eugene "Gene"; her parents, Steve Smitala and Sophie Smitala; her brother Kenneth Smitala; and her son-in-law Lonnie Pell.

She is survived by : her children, Margaret "Peggy" Pell, Mark (Ann), Eric (Lynn), Patrick (Susan) and Brett. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews.
