She was predeceased by: her parents, Bryan Carter and Tessie Carter; her siblings, Alma Draughn (Russell), Doris Hutchison (Wilmer), Ward, Conrad and Joseph Carter; and her brothers-in-law, Burr Hutchison, Wilmer Hutchison, Clinton Smith and Bobby Simmons.
She is survived by: her husband Ray Knighton of Melbourne, FL; and her sisters, Lois Hutchison, Agnes Smith, Rose Simmons and Betty Luffman (Javan). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
