It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lester Riley Johnson Jr. (Melbourne, Florida), born in Miami, Florida, who passed away on November 10, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his daughter Laura Johnson Sherrod (Scott); his granddaughter Alexandria Horner Olive; his wife Susan Merrill Balfe Johnson; his daughters, Merrill J. Horner (David) and Catherine J. Beam (Doug); his grandchildren, Riley Beam (Michelle), Nathan Beam (Ellen), Alexandria Olive (Ben), John Horner, James Sherrod and Hannah Sherrod; and his great grandchildren, Lucy Beam, Madeline Beam and Charlotte Beam.
In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to the U.S. Sailing Center or the Salvation Army.
