He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Aho and Anna Doner Aho; his sister Mary Valjacic (Dolly); and his close friend Ernest Mulligan. He is survived by: his close friends, Angela, Grace Boyer and Monique Norsworthy; his sister Janet R. Warren of Spokane, Washington; and his nieces and nephews, Lou Ann Montgomery (Iowa), Jackie Specht, Colleen Warren, Mary Gubelman (Ron), Stasia Warren (Dave Fasules), Con Warren, Joe Warren, Ian Warren and Mike Warren.

John was involved in many ways with Hospice of Health First; New Hope Children's Wish Foundation; and Bright Star Center for grieving children.
