It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jeffery Lynn Mitchell of Melbourne, Florida, born in Bedford, Virginia, who passed away on May 12, 2023, at the age of 60, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Buddy Mitchell. He is survived by: his mother Sarah Mitchell; his spouse Shelley Mitchell; his siblings, Marshall Mitchell (Laverne Mitchell) and Michelle Tompkins (Daryl Tompkins); and his children, Micaiah Mitchell, Arielle Mitchell, Schaeffer McCary (Ryan McCary), Torrey Loftin (Corey Loftin), Elijah Mitchell (Monika Mitchell), Gideon Mitchell (Rachel Mitchell), Josiah Mitchell (Amanda Mitchell), Sophia Mitchell, Jesse Mitchell, Gabriel Mitchell and Samuel Mitchell. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Harbor City Baptist Church to be distributed among the missionaries that they support.

“I'm an inmate in the Florida department of corrections, and Jeff was sending me Christan pamphlets, cards, and letters for over ten years when our paths met by a mistake. We became very good friends. He always told me that when I get released that we'd have a steak dinner together to celebrate my release and the love we shared in Christ. Jeff became a dear and close friend of mine and he will be truly missed. We'll have that steak dinner in heaven, brother. God bless.”
