He was predeceased by: his parents, Loyd Pinkerton and Orpha Pinkerton. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Pinkerton (Nevin); and his children, Lori Pinkerton-Rolet of Great Britain, Steven Pinkerton (Barbara) and Scott Pinkerton (Tara). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
