With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Fred Kaempfer of Melbourne, Florida, who passed away on February 2, 2021 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Kathleen Swetland; his stepchildren, Kirt Kaempfer (Cathy), Karin Kaempfer Mann (Charlie) and Kate Marie; his grandchildren, Kirt Francis, Chelsea Marie, Dylan Patrick, Charles Wesley and Catherine Lane; and also Grant Douglas.

“Fred and I were great friends at Beloit. Our biggest shenanigans was the organizer of a ski trip to Northern Wisconsin. We chartered 2 school buses and loaded them up with a bunch of horny kids AND kegs of beer. By the time we arrived the floor of the bus was a frozen pale yellow color, beer and urine. We were both Betas although Fred was a year ahead of me. He was my role model because he was so damned handsome and cool way before cool became cool. I hope he did not suffer greatly. Bruce C”
