He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred, Sr. Pate and Phyllis Crawford Pate; his son Greg Pate; and his siblings, Fred Pate, Jr., Johnny Pate and Barbara Gibson.

He is survived by: his daughter Valerie Pate Gragg of Clarkesville, GA; his granddaughters, Cassidy Gragg of Clarkesville, GA and Morgan Gragg of Clarkesville, GA; and his siblings, Kenny Pate, Bobby Pate and Beth Moore of Alabama. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.

“I was a student of Mr. Pate at Eau Gallie High and I took his Physics class. I went on to get a degree in Physics from FIT and still have the book from that class of his I took in HS. Went on to a career in engineering. His class was tough but he was an excellent teacher and he will not be forgotten.”
