She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Conahey and Edward Conahey; her son Patrick Zajac (Polly Zajac) of Indialantic, FL; and her sisters, Jane, Beatrice, Mary and Lillian.
She is survived by: her husband Stephen George Zajac; her children, Stephen Zajac Jr. (Teresa MacArthur) of Lake Jackson, TX, Sonna Gusky (David Gusky), Melbourne Fl and Michael Zajac (Olivia Zajac) of Palm Bay, FL; her grandchildren, Dana Gusky, Sydney (Zajac), Ethan Ott, Emma Gusky, Stephanie Zajac, Abby Zajac, Adrian Gusky, Audrey and Miles Zajac; her great grandchildren, Thomas and Eloise Ott; and her siblings, Hattie Ayres and Granville. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and longtime friends.
She was recently awarded the first "Betty Zajac Award" named in her honor from the Army Women organization at IRCC for her exemplary service and contributions to the community.
