He was predeceased by: his parents, Marjorie Berning and Earl C. Bollinger; his brother-in-law D. Wayne Ashby; and his nephew Peter Kelly Bollinger. He is survived by: his wife Sheila Ann Bollinger of Eau Gallie, Florida.; his brother Charles R. Bollinger; his brother-in-law R. Scott Ashby; his niece Sandy Fiedler (Tristan); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Max, Nina and Nash Fiedler; his nephew Brian Bollinger (Cari Steele); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ben, Bekah, Brooke and Barrett; his nieces and nephews, Pamela Anne Ashby, Noel Ashby (Paul Strabbing), Teal Ashby (Elisa Miller), Blake Ashby (Dara) and Donald Wayne Ashby (Julia); and his great-nephews, Nicholas, Spencer and Luke Ashby.
