It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gertie Buchanan (Mayo, Florida), who passed away on June 29, 2018, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Sheffield and Kate Sheffield; her husband Alvin Foye "Preacher" Buchanan; her daughter Reba Hemphill; and her grandchildren, Daniel Folsom and Kenneth Buchanan.
She is survived by: her children, Alvin Buchanan, Barbara Jacobs of Mayo, Lana Morgan O'Steen of Mayo, Husband Larry of Mayo, Julia Roos of Roswell, NM, Darlene Ward and Carol Edmonds. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
