He is survived by: his children, James William Strong II (Stephanie) of Macclenny, FL and Tiffany Fawn Herrin of Raiford, FL; his siblings, Brian Russell Rife (Beverly) of Macclenny, FL, Michelle Renee Rife of Macclenny, FL, Sheila Marie McGowin and Peggy Renee Vickers of Macclenny, FL; and his grandchildren, Alice Marie, Lillie Anne and Kayana Izabella.
