He was predeceased by: his parents, Obie Stokes and Mae Combs Stokes; his siblings, Loretha Dugger and Edward "Catfish" Stokes; and his stepdaughter Marsha Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Brantley Stokes of Glen St; his daughter Darlene Hilliard (Jack) of Macclenny, FL; and his stepdaughters, Shelia Stepp (Roger) of Leesburg, FL, Debra Graves of Glen St, Regina Graves of Chanute, KS and Roseanne Griffis (Richard) of Macclenny, FL. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family.
