Jerry W. Thomas Obituary
Jerry W. Thomas, age 85 of Macclenny, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023. Born in Baker County, son of the late Romey Lee and Lettie V. Rhoden Thomas, he was a lifetime resident. He was a US Navy veteran, president of Barbara's Kitchen Manufacturing Company in Macclenny, founder, owner, and inventor of The Thomas Magic Spindle™ Original Creation US Patent No. 5, 403091, Who's Who of American Inventors Selected Honored Member, retired General Building Contractor, former City of Macclenny building inspector, former owner and president of Homco Builders, Inc., charter member of Florida Rural Home Builders Association, former roaming Construction Ambassador for Wicks Lumber Company of Lake City, member Scottish Rite Temple and Shriners Morocco Temple, Jacksonville, charter member of Shriner's one million dollar club for crippled children, member of Dawkins Masonic Lodge #60, Macclenny, and a charter member of Satoma Club of Macclenny.
Survivors include his son Jerry D. (Michelle) Thomas, daughter Stormie J (Gary) Faulk, grandchildren Cameron (Rebecca) Thomas, Blake Thomas, Anjelena Isys and Jerry Edward McDaniel and great grandchildren Alexander and Maeve Thomas. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Barbara E. Thomas, siblings: Frankie T. Harvey and Larry W. Thomas both of Macclenny, Rev. Dempsey L. Thomas Ph.D. of Bryson City, NC and god daughter, Deborah Lynn Morris. A celebration of his life will be held 2:00pm, Thursday, April 13, 2023 in the chapel at Warren Funeral Services of Baldwin with Reverend Tommy Anderson officiating.
Interment will follow at Manntown Cemetery, Glen St. Mary. The Thomas family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00pm until service time the day of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriner's Children Hospital or Haven Hospice.
