He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Howell and Dorothy Howell; and his sister Faye Goble. He is survived by: his wife Linda Howell; his brother Jack Leon Howell (Nancy); and his children, John Lamar Howell (Tara), Jonas Albert Brand (Heather) and Erin Rebecca Wiggins. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donations to the St. Andrew Primitive Baptist Church in memory of Richard Howell.
