He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Peel and Nora Peel. He is survived by: his children, Kathy Kelly (Winford) and Tammy Trumbull (Jay Sr.); his sister Marilyn Webb; his grandchildren, Wendall Kelly (Eileen), Brandi Sims (Daren), Jay Trumbull Jr. (Brittany), Emily Pons (Ryan) and Sarah Catherine Trumbull; and his great grandchildren, Weston, Walker, Maci, Maggie, Merritt, Tripp and Foster. He is also survived by four nieces.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Panama City.
