He was predeceased by: his parents, Porter H. Johnston and Annie Caroline Akins Johnston. He is survived by: his wife Frances Barcelo Johnston; his children, Jenean Patricia Van Manen (Jeff Juncos) and William "Tim" Johnston II (Charity); his granddaughters, Caroline Van Manen, Andrea Love (Alex), Caitlyn Johnston and Juliana Van Manen (Rebecca Franks); his great grandchildren, Conan and Carter; his sisters, Patricia Jenkins and Alacia Garrett (Bill); and his siblings-in-law, Alfred (Freddy), Barcelo (Judy), Anthony Barcelo, Sr. and Delia Barcelo Radcliff (Gus).
