She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence L. Smith and Edna L Hays; her husband Van D. Howell, Sr.; her children, Van D. Howell, Jr. and Mary "Ann" Scandling; her grandson Walter C. Butts; and her siblings, Woodrow Smith, Dewitt Smith, Ray Smith and Mildred Galloway.
She is survived by: her son Phillip Howell (Ann) of Ocala; her grandchildren, Clifton Butts, Kristi Townson, Kerri Burkett, Graham Howell and Emily Stathas; her great grandchildren, William Butts "Scot", Renee Kinard, Ian "Marley" Burkett, Karsyn Stathas, Karter Stathas, Macy Howell, Gideon Howell, Jacob Howell and Judah Howell; and her great great grandchildren, Kaylen Kinard, Jackson Kinard and Addalen Kinard.
