He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Donna Frier of Live Oak; his daughters, Annette Alcorn (Tim) of Live Oak, Susie Scott (Keith) of Live Oak and Sylvia Spivey (Terrell) of Live Oak; his siblings, Margaret Nutt (Paul) of Summersville, Franklin Frier (Dot), Sidney Frier (Mary) and Port St; and his son James Sherman "Bubba" Frier Jr.. He was also cherished by 14 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
