Alford Max Carlton Obituary
Mr. Alford Max Carlton, 84, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022, at the Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City FL, following an extended illness. He was the son of the late Alton Smith and Mattie Lucille Harrell Carlton and was preceded in death by two brothers: Ozzie Gerane and Charles Ronald Carlton, sister: Clara Carroll (Roy), and one great-grandson: Jayson Wyatt Gordon. Alford served his country in the United States Air Force for four years, was a member of Westwood Baptist Church for many years, enjoyed mullet fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his lifelong friend: Iva Lee Carlton, Lake City, FL; two daughters Sandra Cook (Greg Maddox) Moultrie, GA, Janet Caverly (Scott) Smith Station, Al, one son Michael Carlton (Cindy Carter) Live Oak, FL; one sister Katy Dean (Tom) Elkins, Cocoa, FL; two sister-in-laws Bobbie Carlton and Sara Simmons. Six grandchildren Josh Caverly (Danielle); Megan Green (Dustin); Kayla Gordon (Jeremy); Cody Carlton (Bailiegh); Melissa Nichols (Cole) and Brandon Cook, and nine great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Alford Max Carlton will be conducted Friday, January 14, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Daniels Funeral Homes in Live Oak, FL. with Grandson Brandon Cook officiating. Interment will be held in the Live Oak Cemetery following services. Visitation with the family will be held Thursday evening January 13, 2022, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
