He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Alvin Wilkerson, and Emma Wilkerson, Sr. (Chandler); his wife Brenda Wynn Wilkerson; his children, Stewart Wilkerson, Brian Wilkerson, Timothy Wilkerson, Derrick Wilkerson, Teresa Clemons and Amanda Lansdon (Jimmie); and his sisters, Martha Rodgers and Geraldine Hutto. He was also cherished by Grandchildren, 9: Great Grandchildren.
