He was predeceased by: his father Virgil Gibson; and his brother Darrell Gibson. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Smith; his son Jake Smith; his mother Lucille Gibson; and his siblings, Kerry Gibson (Shirley), Karen Winslow and Lynn Harrison (Bo). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
