He was predeceased by: his parents, Jan George Szpila and Grace Louise Szpila; and his brothers, Thomas R. Szpila and Brian M. Szpila. He is survived by: his wife Deborah J. Szpila (Tipner); his sons, Craig Joseph Szpila and Steven Wesley Stemm; his siblings, Mary, Jan Stout (Dave), Barbara Bocian (late Tom), Paul Szpila, Loren Szpila and Christopher Szpila; his nieces and nephews, Allison Feniuk (Jaime), Ashley Werges (James), Heather Kvasnicka (Timothy), Cynthia Taylor, Zak Taylor (Tory), Katie Bocian, Jan Michael Szpila and Rhyian Szpila; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Austin, Emily, James, Savannah, Elianna, Caroline, Timothy, Noel, Nicholas, Mitchell, Alyssa and Isaac. He is also survived by his family and friends.
