He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Costa and Helen Costa; his wife Diane Costa; his grandson Barry Williams, Jr.; and his siblings, Charlene Petrizzi and Vincent Costa.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Costa, Sr. (Charlotte), Cheryl Costa, Charlene Costa, Christine Dixon (John) and John Costa; his grandchildren, Kevin, Sheri, Tiffany, Casey, John, James, Michael, Sarah, Craig, Jennifer and Katrina; and his brothers, Charles Costa (Pamela) and Kenneth Costa (Jackie). He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
