He was predeceased by: his parents, Eleanor Johnson and Elwyn Johnson Sr.; his siblings, Eleanor Castine and Ronald Johnson; and his son William Forsyth.

He is survived by: his wife Beverly; his children, Daniel Johnson (Ruthanne), David Johnson (Marie), Ellie Roach (Tim), Derek Patria (Sue), Brian Patria (Angel) and Jennifer Wilson (Tim); and his grandchildren, Danielle Foote (Aaron), Daniel Johnson, Jr. (Alycia), Jen Williamson, Jonathan Wake, Mikaela Cavender (Casey), Leah Roach, Andrew Roach, Holly Roach, Natashia Patria, Drew Patria, Amanda Mahanna (Chris), Kailyn Patria, Jacob Patria, Allie Wilson and Jack Wilson. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
