He was predeceased by: his parents, William Fields and Mollie Young Fields; and his siblings, Richard, Roger, Mary Thaxton and Janice Kirkpatrick.
He is survived by: his wife Anna Laura Peters Fields; his sons, William S. Fields III (Cindy), Timothy W. Fields (Tina) and Mark A. Fields (Amy); and his grandchildren, Jacob, Carter and Hayley Fields.
