He was predeceased by: his wife Josephine Newhart (Pat); his parents, Della Mae Beach Newhart and Jacob Thomas Newhart; and his siblings, Charles Robert Newhart, Ronald Eugene Newhart, Idonia Pearl Newhart, Helen Gae Cottrill and Irene Elizabeth Labriola. He is also survived by five nephews and four nieces.
