She was predeceased by: her parents, A. C. Spates and Irene Spates (Jones); and her son Wesley Gilbert Flournoy, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Wesley Gilbert Flournoy, Sr. of Leesburg, FL; her children, Daryl W. Flournoy (Danielle) of Leesburg, FL and Dianne Flournoy of Leesburg, FL; and her grandsons, Wesley Ryker Flournoy and Coen Wayne Flournoy.

The family has requested donations to be made to the National Alzheimer's Foundation at [email protected] in Mary Nell's loving memory.
