He was predeceased by: his former wife Willie Carter; his brother Donald Carter; his parents, James Carter and Lillian Carter; and the mother of his children Willie Carter.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Carter of Leesburg, FL; his children, Pam White of Bradenton, FL, Steven Carter of Eustis, FL, Denise Tuttle of Gallatin, TN and John W. Carter, Jr. of Gallatin, TN; his siblings, Edward Carter of Gallatin, TN and Millie Carter of Gallatin, TN; and his grandchildren, Derek Tisdale, Amanda Rodriquez, Brandon Carter, Lindsey Tuttle, Joshua Carter, Zach Carter and Ethan Carter. He is also survived by Numerous Great Grandchildren, Extended Family.
