With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Daniel McLeod Jr. of Leesburg, Florida, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 9, 2024 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. John McLeod and Dorothy Heffrin; his brother Neil; his half-sister Dorothy Novotny; and his great grandchild Arthur Neale Van Sciver.
He is survived by: his wife Sherry Joy Spooner; his daughters, Kelly Neale (Jack) of Gainesville, Florida. and Stacy Rider (Bruce) of Gainesville, Florida.; his grandchildren, Kittery Van Sciver (Arthur), McLeod Neale, Ashley Tormes (Kevin), Skyler Neale (Keri), Andrea Abid (Stafa), Breckley Erny (Jon) and Allison Rider; his great grandchildren, Madelyn, Kendall and Riley Tormes; and his grandchildren, Adele, Hope, Kate, John, Campbell, Palmer, Murphy, Hampton Neale, Piper, Skye and Saylor Erny.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Jude Hospital, Shriners Hospital for Children, Lake County Animal Shelter, or Lovey Loaves.
