He was predeceased by: his parents, John Petro and Margaret Petro (Bugan); and his siblings, Thomas, Charles, Jack, Donald Petro and Dolores Brenick.
He is survived by: his wife Judith "Judy" F. Petro of Leesburg, FL; his children, Margeret "Peggy" Caroccia (Mike) of North Huntingdon, Michael Petro (Lori Gracan) of North Huntingdon, Matthew Petro (Lexie) of North Huntingdon and Martin Petro (Elsa) of Melbourne, FL.; his grandchildren, Matt, Kassie Petro, Jr., Jessica Worek, Timothy, Kaitlyn Petro, Brooke Petro and Jennie Worek; his great grandchildren, Alaina and Brody Petro; and also, John, Bridget Morgan, Michael and Chelsey Caroccia. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
