He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Long and Ruth Long (Rahn); his wife Barbara Garbutt; his brother Jeff; and his in-laws, Wilfred and Frances Garbutt.
He is survived by: his daughters, Pamela Dykema (Jamie), Amy Watson (Keith) and Erin Long; his grandchildren, Macey, Ellie, Brady Dykema and Lila Watson; his sister Patricia Corpe (Earl); his siblings-in-law, Sharon Diedrich (Mike), David Garbutt (Annette), Michael Garbutt (Renee) and Daniel Garbutt (Laurie); and his close friend Pam Watrous. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
