George Edward Hovis Obituary
We are sad to announce that on August 31, 2023, at the age of 89, George Edward Hovis of Leesburg, Florida passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Opal Ernestine Hovis (George); his former wife Judith S. Hovis; his stepson Lawson Lewis Wolfe II; and his brothers, Steve Hovis, Wayne Hovis and Harmon Hovis.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sherri Webster and Frances Merritt (Jason); his stepdaughter Denise Wallace (David); his grandchildren, Noah Webster, Eli Webster, Max Webster, Cate Webster, Gabrielle Webster, Isabella Webster, John Paul Webster, Michelle Webster and Kathryn Merritt; and his sister Nell Grice.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in George's honor to the Cornerstone Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont, where he received excellent care in his final moments on this earth.
