With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gene Albert Cook of Leesburg, Florida, born in Greenville, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 12, 2024 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Luther Albert Cook and Elizabeth Crowe Cook of Fountain Inn; his former spouse Shirley Ann Willis of Fountain Inn, SC.; his sons, Sam Gene Cook (Julie Cook) of Burleson, TX. and Phillip Keith Cook of Fountain Inn, SC.; his wife Faye Forrester Sanders of Sunbright, TN.; his children, John Sanders (Linda Sanders) of Marina, CA., Anita Dickard (Wayne Dickard) of Easley, SC., Lucy Johnson (late James Ronald Johnson) of Anderson, SC. and Matthew Sanders (Linda Sanders) of Middletown, MD.; his uncle Pierce Cook; and his close friend Louis Sullivan. He was also cherished by his children, as well as his 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be sent, in Gene's honor, to the Social Hall Fund.
