He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Kahler and Oliver Kahler; and his former wife Judy. He is survived by: his wife Betsy; his children, Oliver Kahler (Kathy), Alicia Kahler (Curtis) and Allen Kahler; and his sister Ann Donley (George). He is also survived by his two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Ebenezer Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Parkinson's Foundation (Parkinson.org), and organization Asher felt strongly about.
