He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilford G. Bird and Wava Evelyn Bird (Skeen); his brother James Bird; and his great grandchild Jacob Matthew Walker. He is survived by: his wife Julia Tyler Bird; his children, Rebecca Bird of Largo, FL, Beth Hunt (Paul) of Richmond, VA, Edith Allin (Tom) of Richmond, VA, Michael Bird of Clearwater, FL and Richard McGrath (Stacy) of Hanover, VA; and his brothers, Wayne Bird (Sandy) of Fayetteville, WV, Fred Bird (Doneeta) of Elkins, WV and Tom Moore (Lindie) of Marlinton, WV. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
