He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Hermine "Mo"; his children, Ann Oswald Benett (Sandy), Mary Oswald, Jim Oswald (Mindy), Maggie Oswald (Ken Paquette) and Katie Wherity (John); his grandchildren, Natalie, Camille Oswald, Sarah Benett and Katherine Grace Paquette; and his siblings, Sister Madonna Oswald and Patricia Illum.
