Though Harriette may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Adolphus Cornelius Strock and Mary Elizabeth Caulk Strock. She is survived by: her husband Jesse Charles Ogier Mathewes, Jr.; and her sister Elizabeth Scales (Sweetie). She is also survived by her four children, her eight grandchildren.
She taught Sunday School and served as Treasurer and later President of the Philoptochos Society and promoted the affiliated Treehouse of Tallahassee charity.
