With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Norman J. Gitzen Sr. of Lantana, Florida, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gitzen and Elizabeth Gitzen (Heyer); and his siblings, Betty Susnak, Donald and Russell Gitzen.
He is survived by: his wife Anne Marie (Sholly); and his children, Marianne Arcieri (Michael) of Boston, MA, Norman J. Gitzen, Jr. of Lake Worth, FL, Mark Gitzen (Leslie) of Marcellus, NY, John Gitzen (Heidi) of Manlius, NY and Beth Dirats (Andy) of Stuart, FL. He is also survived by grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc. (300 2nd St, Liverpool, NY 13088). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Christ the King Roman Catholic Church (21 Cherry Tree Cir, Liverpool, NY 13090).
In lieu of flowers, Norm's family kindly requests that contributions be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
