He was predeceased by: his parents, Josefa Rangel and Severino Garcia; and his brother Alfredo Garcia of New York City. He is survived by: his wife Sara; his children, Michelle and Alex; his daughter-in-law Mary; and his granddaughters, Ashley, Marina and Allison.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to The American Diabetes Association.
