He is survived by: his wife Connie; his sons, Andrew (Chelsea), Phillip (Danae) and Daniel (Kathryn); and his siblings, Thomas Madrid (Christine), J. D. and Patricia Lambert (Edward). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to another camp that was close to his heart: Mount Zion Baptist Camp in Brazil.
