He was predeceased by: his parents, Imre Szabo and Piroska Szabo; his siblings, Ferenc Szabo and Piroska Dawson; and his daughter Susan Ruth Szabo.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Szabo (Smozanek); his daughters, Cindy Szabo Ellis (Brian) of Rehoboth Beach, DE and Tracy Hoornstra (Edward) of Biltmore Lake, NC; his sister Margit McNeely of Mays Landing, NJ; his sisters-in-law, Shirley Frith (Chuck) of Jensen Beach, FL and Sandra Barlow (Marty) of Robbinsville, NJ.; and his grandchildren, Edward Hoornstra (Chip), Nathan Hoornstra, Alexandra Ellis and Catherine Ellis. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
