He is survived by: his wife Shirley Baine; his sons, Brian Baine (Sherba) of Zellwood, Wayne Hayes (Deborah) of Brooksville and Jason Hayes (Christine) of Zephyrhills; his sister Phoebe Anderson of San Marcos, California; his grandson Keith Baines of Orlando; and his stepgrandsons, Zane Hayes and Gavin Hayes.

“I just learned of the passing of my good friend Sam Baine today (08/25/2021) from a Ham Radio operator friend. I've known Sam for over 30 years. He was a great mentor to me when I was just getting into Packet Mode Radio back in the 80's. We have had many conversations over the radio and on a number of occasion met in person at meetings of the Lake Wales Amateur Radio Club, where Sam was the technician for many years maintaining the Lake Wales Repeater..
