He is survived by: his wife Sandra Lee Oppenheimer VanHoose; his sons, Dr. John S. VanHoose II (Katie Hodges) and Jason S. VanHoose (Debra VanHoose) of West Liberty, Kentucky.; and his grandchildren, Alexandra Duet (Chase Duet), Brenna Young (Alex Damerow), Justin VanHoose (Kali Tackett), Andrea VanHoose and John S. "Jack" VanHoose III.
